Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines what you may and may not do with SafePod Backup. It is part of our Terms of Service. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account, with no refund.

1. Your responsibilities

  • Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Keep your account credentials confidential and notify us of any suspected compromise.
  • Only back up content you own or have the right to back up.
  • Respect the intellectual property and privacy rights of others.

2. Prohibited content

You must not use SafePod Backup to store, distribute, or process:

  • Content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in the regions where the service operates.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate termination, and reporting to authorities.
  • Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Content that violates the privacy or publicity rights of others.
  • Content that promotes terrorism, violence, or illegal weapons trade.
  • Malware, viruses, or other malicious code intended to harm systems or users.
  • Content classified as restricted or controlled under applicable export laws (without proper authorization).

3. Prohibited activities

  • Attempting to disrupt, degrade, or compromise the security of the service.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive source code.
  • Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the service without prior written consent.
  • Accessing or attempting to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access.
  • Using the service to send unsolicited communications (spam) or to host phishing infrastructure.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or otherwise commercially exploiting the service without our express written permission.
  • Circumventing usage limits, quotas, or technical restrictions of your plan.

4. Sensitive data

You are responsible for assessing whether the service is appropriate for the categories of data you intend to back up. If you process special categories of personal data (e.g., health data, financial data, government IDs), ensure your use complies with applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA where relevant, PCI DSS).

5. Resource use

Excessive or abusive use of compute, storage, or network resources beyond your plan's fair-use limits may result in throttling, additional charges, or suspension. We will attempt to contact you before taking action where reasonably possible.

6. Reporting abuse

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP — including content stored or distributed via SafePod Backup — please report it to admin@safepodbackup.com with sufficient detail for us to investigate.

7. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including warning, throttling, suspending, or terminating accounts. Severe or illegal violations may be reported to law enforcement. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund.

8. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
